I interviewed Julie Robinson about her work with children and play therapy. Julie Robinson presented a workshop at the first Vitual Conference on Counseling in Second Life, this workshop and Julie’s wider experience was the foundation for our discussion. Julie and her co presenters offered this starting point for the workshop “This workshop is designed to (1) assist those who work with children in obtaining an understanding of the child-centered theory of play therapy, (2) help the participant develop an awareness of the childʼs world as viewed by the child, (3) help the participant communicate more effectively with children at a “feeling level”, (4) increase the participantʼs understanding of children and their behavior and, (5) help the participant implement practical skills to facilitate childrenʼs emotional growth in play therapy.”

I just tested the "Caboodles" makeup case called "the Goddess" with MASSIVE amounts of lead in it! Got the test from Lowe’s and it was extremely easy to use.

I am just shocked that when I took it back, I tested another one which they had there and it was even a DARKER RED!

Why isn’t the Government doing it’s job by making sure that merchandise which comes from other countries is safe? Why don’t they start spending money on Consumer safety people instead of Iraq?!?
riach.. That was a rude comment! I WOULD buy American, but as all of the companies went overseas because they no longer have to pay tariffs here in the US it is IMPOSSIBLE TO!

And this has NOTHING to do with eyeshadow! To tell you the truth, it was NEVER used for it. My two year old carried it around and used it for a tote.
Chesl..It is not the make up. It is the make up cases which have the problem.

I don’t know how long they have had this problem, but it is something that people need to be aware of and wake up that it isn’t just kids toys. They need to take the prerogative and do some testing on their own, but yet the Government needs to wake up and start enforcing our laws.
Chesl..Lowe’s didn’t invent anything, they sell it. It isn’t my job to make sure that items which I buy don’t have lead in it. Lead was banned in paints during the 1960. There are laws to protect the consumers and people are totally ignorant for what lead does, and how dangerous it is.

If people actually woke up and looked at the documents from the SPP there would be a Revolution on their hands because they would learn that the USA government is wanting Canada and Mexico to screen all products coming into the US..not anyone in the USA. Consumer safety is the last thing on their mind, but without it, it will destroy the USA and leave people vulnerable. Might as well say that China is doing economic terrorism on the US.

Expand the description and view the text of the steps for this how-to video. Check out Howcast for other do-it-yourself videos from CinemaSlam and more videos in the Nursery and Baby Gear category. You can contribute too! Create your own DIY guide at www.howcast.com or produce your own Howcast spots with the Howcast Filmmakers Program at www.howcast.com Safety, of course, should be your number one concern when buying toys for your baby. But there are other considerations to keep in mind. To complete this How-To you will need: Time to shop Common sense Warning: Toy recalls are on the rise. To find out about specific toys, visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website at www.cpsc.gov. Step 1: Visit toy stores. Even if you plan to use mail order or buy online, it’s a good idea to check out a toy in person. Tip: The best toys for kids 18 months and under include mobiles, soft books, rattles and other noisemakers, busy boxes, activity tables, stacking toys, and push- and pull-toys. Step 2: As you browse, ask yourself two questions about any toy that catches your eye—does it look like something my baby will enjoy, and is it safe? Step 3: Consider size and weight. Your baby will have the most fun with a toy that he can get a grip on, one that’s not too heavy or large for him to manipulate. Step 4: Look for a toy that offers different textures, especially for very young babies. Step 5: Choose toys that your baby can interact with. He should be a participant in making it …
